[OwP] slandered on DoDmod forums posted by [Elrond] | 04/08/02 11:05:23 PM

Please visit This Thread over at the DoDmod forums, and have a good, hard read of it's contents (also take a look at the banter between that forum's resident intellectual midget and yours truly, on the last two pages).

Despite what appears to be some initial small-mindedness, the popular opinion of [OwP] is fairly well stated by non-members.

We are seen as an old-boys network, scratching each other's backs and looking out for our own interests. This is clearly unacceptable.

I would remind you all of our overall objectives ..

The Online Warfare Pact exists to promote a positive game play environment in the Day of Defeat Community

We can only do that by cultivating a positive atmosphere on each and every server we visit. The responsibility is all of ours. We must also take care to set a positive and contributory role-model to newer players and veterans alike.

If anyone thinks that being [OwP] is too demanding, let me know. We don't want large numbers, or servers full of [OwP] tags but what we DO want is people who are gonna help the gaming community and make it a nicer place to spend your free time.

From now on, I would like you ALL to contact me personally if you see any "members" not adhering to our Code of Conduct - with a screenie of the offence in question, and a screenie of their WON ID.

The ability to make DoD a fun place to be rests with the Mod developers. The ability to make DoD, and any other game for that matter, a GREAT place to STAY rests with us, and people like us.

Un Autre Introduction .. le DJ d'Internet! posted by [Elrond] | 7/29/2002 12:33:30 PM

Yes indeed folks, yours truly is now an internet DJ!

Last night I set up a SHOUTcast streaming server on my home box, entitled [OwP-FF] Radio. The intention is to make this a community gaming resource with news, live commentary on DoD games and a DJ schedule, with shows such as 50's/60's, popular charts, indie, classical and (my own) Metal Militia!

The current home is http://:8000/listen.pls, however the wonderful folks at ReconGamer, sponsors of the DoDmod team website and server, have offered us hosting for a SHOUTcast server - as soon as that's set up I'll be transferring the stream to that, which will allow us to reach an even wider audience.

Give us your thoughts on what YOU would like of an [OwP] affiliated broadcast! Mail em to ME. all comments gratefully accepted.

[OwP-FF] Radio!! I kid you not! posted by [Elrond] | 7/28/2002 11:50:41 PM

Thanks to the efforts of our very own Orange, we have our very own radio station! I'm currently running it from This IP although we have been promised hosting from those dleightful types at ReconGamer! Tune in now for Elfeh MP3 goodness ... and we'll shortly post a DJ timetable with shows!

RIP Zofran, FLF Community figurehead: posted by [Elrond] | 7/23/2002 4:51:26 PM

it is with great sadness that I must pass on the news of Matthew Hallemeier's death.

Matthew, aka Zofran, was a very vibrant young man, and a member of the FrontLineForce development team. Zof was a very enthusiastic and positive young man, who continued to positively input into the wider gaming community, liasing with other mod developers and sustaining the FLF community throughout his illness. Whilst not knowing him personally, I have professionally admired his work and commitment from afar.

Our best wishes and deepest sympathy go to Matthew's family at this most painful time.

GG, Zof wins ;(
