End Of An Era - Goodbye.

It's been three long years. Three looooong years. When I took on the [OwP] there were about 125 names on a list that hadn't been updated in over 6 months. Today we are an organisation with over 8000 names on the roles and a presence in every country that has players.
It was always going to be a difficult task: Bring a measure of social responsibility to the repercussionless world of online gaming. It has been a long, hard battle. The vagaries of a volunteer workforce, the costs associated with the hosting, the 10 hour days for no return, the public relations nightmares, enough broken promises to float a battleship, my own personal management style (just a little harsher than Genghis Kahn's or Vlad the Impaler's) and the betrayals and disappointments that arose from it have meant that my tenure here at [OwP] has been educational, challenging, and interesting, but never really fun.
So, back at the start of the year I took on Cencus as the new organisational head. He took a while to believe in himself as much as I did, but it looks like he is there. Over the last few weeks I've not had to consult on a single issue, and, while it is a little bit disappointing that I am not indespensible (though not at all surprising), I am incredibly proud of the way CT has risen to the task. He's been doing a damned fine job, and will be able to make the [OwP ] into what he, with your help, decides it should be. I will not make a list of those to thank. You know who you are, even if you think I don't. To those of you who left because of me, well, come on back and help out. CT and the [OwP] deserve your help.

End Of Owp Servers

I am sad to say that due to a lack of funds and interest of the membership,we are going to have to close the OwP servers. 9th of September will be the last day.
Big thanks to all those who did donate and an especially big thank you to FNG for making up shortfalls when they occured and for managing the payment side of things. |

1st Stage Of New Owp Website Has Arrived

I am very pleased to announce the arrival of the first stage of a brand new OwP website. This stage primarily deals with members allowing the editing of data on members accounts. Further stages wil be rolling out over the next few weeks and months.
Majorly big thank yous to iAn and Lokeh for all their hard work in creating this new website. |

Since I have started Advertising OwP in Australia, I have seen, new members sign up from over here, I have also had some interest from some Game service Provider's(GSP).
With that in Mind. I am looking for a couple of people, who can help me further OwP in Australia, with the aim, of securing new member's, and the view to securing some affiliated server's.
If you are a member of OwP in Australia, and part of a clan/team, or staff at an GSP. I would like to ask you to pass on our goal's and aims for online gaming to the rest of your team mate's and consider affiliating, your server with OwP.
If you would like to take an official position as a Representative of OwP, in Australia, please PM me via forums.

Probably been more than a week but still.
Website Revamp
Major thanks to =BA=Scrappy & Juggernaut to the revamp of the website front page. Most of the damage done by the 2 previous hacks and a year of constant host moves has been repaired by Juggernaut on top of that =BA=Scrappy did a redesign which looks sweet. Mega thanks lads
Admin_needed bot
Piou has been working on a admin_needed bot for OwP servers. We now have the 1st beta in operation, so if there are any problems on server please change your name to admin_needed and one of our admin team will come to your assistance.
